• Pour Color: A amber color that light got thru easy

      The color was a toasted amber color along the lines of almost a red. The head came up frothy and eventually mellowed, although it left a trace of it self the whole way down! The scent off the top is malty yeasty and toasty. Not really a hop lovers beer here. The taste is much sweeter then I usualy enjoy. That though is mixed with a toasty almost biscuity taste. The only hops come through as a earthy variety, not very bold though. Really a lager that has some soul not just fizzy yellow sugar like some. 
     This is a nice light amber that is light but not. 6.2% abv gives it a little kick that most ambers wouldn't have. The toasty flavor and easy drinkability make this a pretty good beer. Not something to go tell the neighbor hood about either. Any speak easy or every day bar should have something this smooth on!

Conway Irish Ale

      A amber red right out the bottle and my follicles ain't excited. A red ale is the last thing this mustache wants but for some reason this is the season for em.  Conway's Irish Ale had a creamy head for a sip or two before it went down. The tastes are those of mellow malt. A much sweeter taste then the Cascazilla Red Ale I did a review on at the start of the month. A nice bread in bottle taste although usually not my style. The hop is only a slight flavor in the malty red.
      Conway's Irish Ale is really a decent beer in itself. Being a red ale I wasn't sure about it. The Face though tells me he will be buying more of these as the Saint Paddy's day celebration comes closer. So think of this as a first of many red ales for the season. May even get lucky enough to try a few Irish stouts too.

Edmund Fitzgerald

• Pour Color: A real murky dark brown

      The head hit me and was quite creamy. I bested it without losing much position. The scent was smokey and deceivingly sweet compared to the flavor. Very strong body to this beer with strong tastes of coffee and smoke. Those are sweetened with a chocolate and almost caramel flavor. Over all a really good porter.
      I find the history involved in great lake beers is a interesting bit of character. Each beer has it's historical name and story and really gives a fun take on weird tragedy. With St. Patty's day coming up you may even see Conway's Irish Ale. Can't see em clearly but a lot of this mustache's hair is red.
